Lactoferrin is a multifunctional glycoprotein and as an immune protein older than mankind itself. We therefore see lactoferrin as the ideal companion in the modern world. Even as infants, we absorb it through our mother's milk. Thanks to the gastric acid-stable capsule, L'FERRIN reaches where it is needed, namely the center of our immune system – the intestine.
As one of the body's most valuable proteins, lactoferrin is a natural component of the immune system. Lactoferrin only develops its best possible effectiveness at a high level of purity. We achieve this at L'FERRIN through a state-of-the-art extraction and purification process.
Lactoferrin CLN® is extracted from cow's milk and purified using Europe's most advanced process equipment. Thanks to this gentle and complex process, L'FERRIN is proven to have the highest lactoferrin content and purity compared to similar products. Although it is derived from milk (whey), even people with lactose intolerance can consume it.*

Lactoferrin is an endogenous protein and – older than mankind itself – a primordial substance of the human immune system. The first large portion is given to humans through their mother's milk. Lactoferrin is produced in small amounts by the body itself and is found in almost all body fluids such as tears or saliva. Since human and bovine (from cow's milk) lactoferrin are nearly identical (chemically similar), we extract the protein from cow's milk. In addition, lactoferrin belongs to the group of transferrins, the so-called iron transporters.
Our immune system is made for middle age and less for the old age that many people reach today. It has also never faced so many challenges, such as environmental pollution or everyday stress. In addition, we move significantly less compared to our ancestors. When it comes to nutrition, too, we don't always provide ourselves with enough of the nutrients that are important for us. This can be stressful in the long run and put a lot of strain on our immune system.
All mammals produce Lactoferrin. We obtain our Lactoferrin from cow's milk – as it’s chemically similar to the human Lactoferrin – in a resource-conserving way and “clean” the protein in a gentle, multi-stage purification process to filter out impurities. In this way, we remove, for example, attached parts of bacteria and their components. To prevent Lactoferrin from being destroyed by gastric acid, we use a gastric acid-stable capsule. Thus, it is not absorbed until it reaches the small intestine, where it takes full effect.
Our Lactoferrin can be ingested during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consultation with your doctor or therapist. The fact that we use mostly natural substances in all our products makes us one of the safest brands.
No, we do not source our Lactoferrin from only organic milk, but we make sure our dairy is of the highest quality. The reason is a practical one: to produce Lactoferrin in large quantities would require more organic milk than dairies typically produce. Our Lactoferrin comes from whey, which is a byproduct of cheese production.
Unfortunately, no, because the processing of milk destroys the Lactoferrin, which is contained in only small doses per liter.
Our products have been developed with primarily adults in mind but it’s a fact, that Lactoferrin is ingested with mother’s milk and is also present in many baby foods and formula milk. Nonetheless, consultation with the treating pediatrician should be made.
Iron salts as supplementation are poorly bioavailable and often show side effects (gastrointestinal discomfort). We recommend our NATURAL IRON, developed with lactoferrin as transferrin and plant curry leaf iron. Plant iron is metabolized through a separate receptor pathway and is more tolerable as well as more bioavailable.
